Okay, before I go on, I must warn you, this page is sure to have some spoilers in it. When I first got interested in DBZ and started looking things up on the internet about it I saw spoilers everywhere I looked. But this wasn't all bad. For the most part it made me want to see the rest of the episodes more. But for those of you who have only seen the american episodes, and want to wait until fall when Cartoon Network is getting some more dubbed episodes then I suggest that you skip this part and go strait to one of the other sections, because I will give away some plot lines!Okay, now that that is said and done, I shall continue.Dragon Ball was about Goku when he was a kid. Dragon Ball Z starts off when Goku has gotten quite a bit older and now has a son of his own. Gohan who is four years old. Characters that are introduced in the beginning few episodes of DBZ are almost all from the original series (all except for Radditz of course - I'll get to him in a min) We see Chi Chi (Goku's wife), Bulma (a close friend of Goku's), Kurilin, Oo-Long, Master Roshi (Muten Roushi), and Piccolo. I can't remember who else showed up in the first ep, but that doesn't really matter. What matters is Raditz.All through out DB, Goku was very unusually strong and (in the beginning) he had a tail. They never really explained any of this, saying only that Goku had hit his head when he was young and lost any memory before that,RADDITZ SAGA:goku went to see his friends and announced that he had a new son Radditz showed up in DBZ. He came to Earth in a small round space ship and told Goku that he was his brother, and that Goku's name was really Kakkarot. That Goku was a Saiyan, a member of a race of elite warriors, and that he was sent to Earth as a baby to kill all the inhabitants so that the Saiyans could sell the planet to the highest bidder.raddits took gokus son gohan and said if you want him back join me.It's because of Radditz that Goku teams up with Piccolo so that the two of them would have a chance of defeating the powerful saiyan.the fight begins and raddits is like you dont get it do you im to strong for you ha ha ha
 goku and piccolo fight radditz and get their butts kicked until piccolo says he developed a new technique called the special beam cannon and goku got beat up real bad when gohan sees his dad he gets pissed and busts out of the capsule he was locked in in a rage
 gohan was pissed he delivered a powerful blow to radditz chest and knocked him over after that radditz decided to take gohan instead of goku goku said no hes only a child and radditz said only a child heh the brat has even more power than you.goku then got up grabbed him and said piccolo do the new technique and piccolo did it
 and they won.By the end of the fight Goku and Radditz both die, but not before Piccolo tells Radditz about the dragon balls and about how goku could simply be wished back to life while Radditz would stay, quite dead.Unfortunetly Radditz's communicator/scouter was turned on and some other, more powerful saiyans, were listening in. But before dying, Radditz tells this to Piccolo (just had to get in the last word didn't he?) Giving Piccolo and the other Z fighters a chance to prepare for the on coming battle.I went a little over board on detail on that part mostly because that's where a lot of the info that you need for later stuff is stored. They fill you in on a lot of info in the begining, and prepare you for the Saiyan saga.To make things clear, I'll tell you this now. DBZ is sorted into Sagas, or sections of the show that can be put into their own sections of the story. It starts with the Radditz saga, then there is a pause in the fighting when everyone is training. Goku is going down Snake Way in Heaven so that he can train under king Kai he learns cool techniques that help him along the way such as kao-ken and spirit bomb, Yamcha, Tien, Krillin, and Chaut-zu, are all training under Kamesennin (Kame in the American Version. He's often called God in the subs) And Gohan is Training under Piccolo in the wilderness.he has to survive for 3 months on his own
 SAIYAN SAGA:when Napa and Vegita show up. Kurilin and Master Roshi (who have already gathered the Dragon Balls) call forth the eternal dragon and wish Goku back, unfortunetly Goku has to make his way back down snake way before he can join in the battle against the two extremely powerful saiyans.This is the beginning of a patern that we see all throughout DBZ. The waiting for Goku.To make this shorter, Nappa beats up everybody and kills everybody except for Gohan and Kurilin. Then Goku shows up and kicks Napa's butt. Vegita get's upset with Napa and kills him and he laughs after doing it
 Gohan and Kurilin leave just as the battle between Goku and Vegita begins.The battle between them lasts more then a few episodes, and (if you watch the japanese version instead of the american) is very messy. Realizing that Goku (or Kakkarott as Vegita calls him) is a lot stronger then he thought and was really surprised about the kao-ken technique he knew, Vegita creates an artifical moon and transforms into the monkey,
